What’s new on Netflix?

Hello October, Stoptober, Spooktober and go on. October is the month when many new series and movies will be launched on Netflix!

With the start of October, we are ready for a whole new binge-watch season! Get ready for cold nights, sitting on the couch with tea and a blanket, and loads of Netflix! This time we are focusing on Netflix originals that will come out and what definitely not to miss this month!

Let’s start with the Netflix original series. Many of you may be familiar with Peaky Blinders. This month, on the 4th of October they finally launch their 5th season! For the ones who have never seen Peaky Blinders before: This series is definitely a must have. Peaky blinders is a story about Thomas Shelby and his brothers, who are returning back to Birmingham after they have served the British Army during WWI. Shelby and the Peaky Blinders are in control of the city of Birmingham. But soon, Birmingham isn’t enough anymore. Shelby wants to expand and build his empire outside of Birmingham as well and will stop anyone who gets in his way. 

Besides Peaky Blinders, these are the other must-seen Netflix Original series launching this month:

  • Raising Dion (available on the 4. October)
  • Haunted season 2 (available on 11. October)
  • Insatiable season 2 (available on 11. October)
  • Plan Coeur season 2 (available on 11. October)
  • La Cas de Las Flores season 2 (available on 18. October)
  • Living with Yourself (available on 18. October)
  • The Kominsky Method season 2 (available on 18. October)
  • Pose season 2 (available on 30. October)

Netflix wouldn’t be Netflix if they won’t provide us with some new Netflix’s Original Movies. For this month they have several ready for us and don’t forget: It’s already getting closer to Halloween, so some might be a bit spooky!

  • In the Tall Grass (available on the 1. October)

In the Tall Grass is a Horror novel written by Stephen King and his son Joel Hill. The story is about a brother and a sister that hear a boy’s cry for help. They venture themselves into a vast field of Tall Grass in Kansas. But shortly after they are in the grass, they realize there may be no way out. 

  • Fractured (available on 11. October)

Rebecca and Michael decide to go on a little weekend getaway and therefore escape from their busy lives into an isolated countryside. They arrive at a little unscathed cottage, but Rebecca feels constantly like someone is watching. 

  • El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (available on 11. October)

After the popular series Breaking Bad ended, Netflix decided to make a follow up movie. The movie is set after the escape of Jack and his gang. Jesse is trying to run from the police and is trying to escape via his own inner turmoil. This movie is definitely a must see when you can’t get enough of Breaking Bad

  • The Laundromat (available on 18. October)

The Laundromat is a movie about a widow who is investigating an insurance fraud that leads to a couple in Panama City. Eventually it breaks through one of the biggest exploiting frauds in the world’s financial system.

  • Eli (available on 18. October)

Eli is a story about an old man’s routine visit to local doctors. But eventually, surgery will take a dark twist. 

  • Dolemite is my name (available on 18. October)

Dolomite is a movie that portrays the live of Rudy Ray Moore. This comedy is full of rap and hilarious kung-fu fighting scenes. Dolomite became a Blaxploitation phenomenon in the 1970s.

Not really into binge-watching series or movies? Don’t worry, we have your back. Netflix will also launching some awesome documentaries that you can’t miss!

  • Living Undocumented (available on the 2. October)

A documentary about the lives of eight undocumented families will be a chaos for the new American immigration policy.

  • Rotten season 2 (available on the 4. October)

Rotten dives into the world of food production. They show the underworld and expose corruption, the waste of food and the dangers behind your eating habits. 

  • Ghosts of Sugar Land (available on 16. October)

Ghost of sugar land is a short documentary about a group of Muslims that are attempting to reconcile the disappearance from one of their close friends. 

  • Little Miss Sumo (available on 28 October)

A documentary about a female sumo wrestler who is fighting against her traditions and stigma, with her end goal to win her place in the ring.
